At the University of Bayreuth, the Chair of Philosophy, Computer Science and AI is seeking to fill the position of a Doctoral or PostDoctoral Researcher (m/f/d) in pay grade 13 TV-L at the earliest possible date. At 100% employment, the term is limited to one year; in the case of part-time employment, the position can be extended (e.g., to 50% employment for 2 years).
If your application is successful, you will become part of the team of the Chair of Philosophy, Computer Science and AI and benefit from the numerous interdisciplinary collaborations at the Chair (e.g. with computer science and law in the project “For the Greater Good: Deepfakes in Law Enforcement”). You can also get involved in developing innovative teaching formats incorporating various AI tools and methods. The position is suitable for completing an existing doctoral or postdoctoral project or as funding while applying for your own funds for a new project (third-party funded projects, fellowships, scholarships, etc.).
We expect a very good command of written and spoken English (a good command of German is an advantage), substantial education in analytical philosophy and a corresponding degree, the ability to work in a team, a keen interest in interdisciplinary work, and a concrete work plan or first sketch (approx. 2 pages) for your project.
